Spring PR Intern
About the Candidate
We are seeking a highly motivated, solutions-oriented and well-organized part-time public relations intern for the fall semester to assist in day-to-day activities supporting clients. Because we move quickly, PR, marketing and communications senior students and recent graduates with past internship experience are preferred, but not required. Excellent time management skills, a strong interest in public relations and a proactive team player with an “anything is possible” mindset are essential to succeed in this position.

Our PR internships are a great opportunity to gain first-hand experience across varied PR and content marketing campaigns in a small, yet fast-paced results-driven remote-based work environment. #modernagencyvibes
Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and update media and influencer lists with relevant outlets, angles and voices
Write and edit press releases and media advisories
Secure editorial opportunities for clients through targeted and creative pitching efforts
Create media briefing/backgrounder materials for spokespersons
Proactively seek out editorial opportunities
Track press coverage; creating outcomes reports
Social Media & Content Marketing
Create and manage social publishing content calendars
Write and edit blog posts
Identify bylined article submissions opportunities
Draft and edit copy for contributed articles
Brand Positioning & Messaging
Research industry trends and stay on top of current events/issues
Conduct communication and messaging audits for new clients
Develop corporate and/or product messaging documents
Speaking & Awards
Identify relevant events, conferences and award opportunities
Create and manage key deadlines for events/awards/speaking calendars
Draft and submit abstracts, based on spokespersons prioritized topics
Gather and edit spokesperson bios
Miscellaneous (as needed)
Support new business efforts for OHPR
Participate in client meetings and capture next steps
Contribute toward PR and marketing efforts for OHPR
Job type: Part-time, 12-15 hours a week
Start date: Flexible, as early as week of April 16, 2018
Job length: 3-4 months, ongoing possible.
Job location: Primarily remote; must be available to meet in-person, as needed
